1. Malarkey X Blackmagic: Introductory Micro Shorts - Eligible for the Audience Vote Award/Blackmagic Prize
This will be the opening portion of our event; curated ‘Introductory Micro-Shorts’. Guidelines for the intro micro-shorts portion (eligible for the audience vote prize) require that the submitted short film be 5 minutes or less in length and utilize at least one aspect of Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve FREE software. Whether it be picture edit, audio edit, VFX or final deliverables. We will provide links to official Blackmagic Resolve tutorials to help aid first time Resolve users.

                   We encourage anyone, new to the program or pro users to submit to this FREE, ultra accessible category of our event.

PLEASE NOTE: If selected you will be required to show proof that you have used at least two facets of Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve Software in the making of your Introductory Micro-Short.

2. Malarkey X Blackmagic: Open Submissions - Eligible for the Industry Vote Award/Blackmagic Prize

The films submitted in this category (15 minutes in length or less) are eligible to win our Industry Vote Award. This 'Open Submissions' Category can utilize Blackmagic's extensive range of cameras, equipment or software but it is NOT a requirement for this section. These films will be selected by our jury.

As of now we will be hosting virtually and the event will be free for all (suggested donation). We will be collecting donations throughout the entirety of our event and at the end of the festival 100% of collected donations will go to a local NYC initiative.

The event itself includes a live musical performance by an emerging NYC based artist, and a live award ceremony.

Prizes are Blackmagic Design products in both categories!
